Singapore Fruits and Vegetables Importers and Exporters Association (SFVA) was established in 1948 by a group of pioneer fruits and vegetables importers in Singapore. Initially, the association had only seventeen members and the association’s office was in one of Singapore early wholesale markets at Carpenter Street. With the move of many of our fruits, vegetables, preserved and dried foodstuff importers and distributors to the newly constructed Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre (located) in 1983, SFVA also relocated its association office to the new Centre off West Coast highway.
SFVA’s main mission is to promote and expand the development of fruits and vegetables trade in Singapore. The association aims to promote member’s interests and helps to foster a strong network amongst members and forge a closer link relevant partners and stakeholders (such as government agencies and international trade organizations).
Since its inception, the organizations had organized many activities and initiated projects and initiatives for its members. To help members keep abreast of latest trends and developments, the association had led two successful trade mission trips to Australia and Cameron Highlands. The association is ever ready to work with its members to establish links with overseas exporters and importers. The association regularly welcomes overseas trade delegations and arranged meeting and business matching sessions, allowing members and potential business partners opportunities to exchange information and most important of all, promote bilateral trade.
SFVA has been growing steadily through the years, it has counted over 50 members representing all major fruits and vegetables importers and exporters in Singapore. The association strives to continually expand its reach, to actively identify new overseas trade and opportunities for its members as well as exploring ways to upgrade the industry.
