Singapore Fruits and Vegetables Importers and Exporters Association (SFVIEA) was established in 1948 by a group of fruits and vegetables importers in Singapore. At that time, the Association had only seventeen members, and the office was located in one of Singapore early wholesale markets at Carpenter Street. With the construction of the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre in 1983, many fruits & vegetables importers and exporters shifted.
SFVIEA’s main mission is to promote and expand the development of fruits and vegetables trade in Singapore. As a bridge to promote and expand the development of fruits and vegetables trade in Singapore. As a contact point to promote member’s interest, the association helps to foster closer links amongst members and facilitate valuable networks with various government ministries and trade organization.
SFVIEA plays a pivotal role in assisting members to expand market share, promote healthy eating and advocate healthy lifestyles for public. SFVIEA also assist members to keep abreast of latest trends and developments. The association is ever ready to work with its members to establish links with overseas exporters and importers. It has made important contributions to stabilize market prices and supply of fruits and vegetables.
Since its inception, the organizations had organized many activities and initiated projects and initiatives for its members. The association regularly welcomes overseas trade delegations and arranges meeting and business matching sessions. These allowed members and potential business partners to exchange information and most important of all, promote bilateral trade.
SFVIEA will continue to expand further and to actively explore new overseas trade opportunities for its members as well as looking at various ways to improve and upgrade the industry.
