On 12 March 2026, the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore led a delegation from Michoacán on a visit to the Singapore Fruits and Vegetable Importers and Exporters Association (SFVIEA).
Mr. Daniel Tay, representing the Chairman of SFVIEA, together with the association’s council members, welcomed the delegation. Both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen trade and cooperation between Singapore and Mexico.
Michoacán is one of Mexico’s leading agricultural states, known for producing avocados, honey, limes, berries, and other fresh produce.
The delegation included:
- Ms. Omega Vázquez, Economic Development Coordinator for the State of Michoacán
- Dr. Mario Calderon, Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Mexico in Singapore
- Mr. Gerson Garduño, CEO, Singapore–Mexico Chamber of Commerce
- Ms. Maria del Mar Magaña, Head of the Western Chapter, Singapore–Mexico Chamber of Commerce
The visit provided a valuable platform to explore future collaboration and strengthen agricultural trade ties between Singapore and Mexico.
